What BFCSA Does...

BFCSA investigates fraud involving lenders, spruikers and financial planners worldwide.  Full Doc, Low Doc, No Doc loans, Lines of Credit and Buffer loans appear to be normal profit making financial products, however, these loans are set to implode within seven years.  For the past two decades, Ms Brailey, President of BFCSA (Inc), has been a tireless campaigner, championing the cause of older and low income people around the Globe who have fallen victim to banking and finance scams.  She has found that people of all ages are being targeted by Bankers offering faulty lending products. BFCSA warn that anyone who has signed up for one of these financial products, is in grave danger of losing their home.

    Shame on Westpac Bank Signing up a 100 year old lady for Rocket Home loan

    At the moment my Family are going through absolute Fraud with Westpac Bank in Queensland. How could this happen to a very old lady, who later did Not know she was on a Mortgage??
    We have so much Evidence to Prove what Westpac did, Heartbreaking.

    Re: Signing up 100 year old Lady for Rocket Home Loan.
    Forgot to add, Grandson was also on this Loan, using a New Name, Both on Pensions, My Mothers Money used for large Deposit & Mum also had Documented Dementia Plus Significant Cognitive Impairment.??
    I assumed this was a Federal Offence??

    Hi Lisa,
    Yes finally the Adult Guardian became involved after we filed with QCAT. Complicated case dear, Mum was actually kidnapped by her Grandson from a Hospital & taken to Queensland. Police & Courts involved, but I did not have POA, so all pleas were ignored. QCAT lost Mums File for 7 months, they were shocking, although we pleaded with them continuously. Finally we did bring Mum home, but by then her health had deteriorated. I cared for Mum until she passed away June 2011. Not only dealing with Mums passing, the Fraud perpetrated by Westpac Bank & Grandson is dreadful. Still Westpac insist they have done nothing wrong.We contacted ASIC, they have done nothing, even though False Names used, income was not correct & both on pensions??

    What a shocking experience for you and your Mum, and so sad.
    To have the complex legal and fraud issues on top of grief can be devastating.
    Add to that banks who have done "nothing wrong"...and regulators who sit on their hands while we do all the investigation work and pay the costs...
    I'm hoping that things are improving for you now.

    ASIC would have to be a complete waste of Federal funding (taxpayer provided). Over the years they have continually divested & devolved their duties & responsibilities as they keep ducking the cases they are employed to deal with.

    ASIC are a waste of space in my opinion. 8 years ago we staged a protest outside every office of ASIC in Australia. Perhaps its time to have another go? In Martin Place on two occasions, we set up a Card Table with notices saying it was our own SELF HELP DESK due to ASIC's non interest in such cases and also the losses in the illegal MIS scams and Promissory Note scams.

    Time for Government to respond to the latest revelations of woeful regulatory responses to serious and systemic issues and create a properly constituted CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY that is not corrupted by industry.

    I've had several dealings with "Fair Trade" and small claims over for a misrepresented investment product (software and education). I added them to the list of those who couldn't help me. We badly need one organisation that does it all for consumer protection in Australia. It would also save victims doing the rounds trying to find who it is that CAN help! It's exhausting and frustrating ...

    Hi Lisa,
    Thank You for your kind words. FOS say Westpac have a case to answer, but somehow I don't trust them after reading some blogs. My brother who is Executor thinks they will help, honestly I don't think they will. He has asked me to hold on Registering with Denise, until we see what happens. No not over it dear, truly it is an ongoing nightmare.
    To think that Mum worked so hard, saved so hard & went without, just to have Banks, Solicitors take so much of her money is heartbreaking, let alone the grandson. Morally they all have a case to answer, but will it happen???
